The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of Salisbury

How we help empower youth

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs of America creates some of the most exciting and memorable moments for youth. Programs include spiritual, character, leadership, and arts development. Various sports are offered throughout the year, including flag football, t-ball, softball, and basketball. From June-August, the pool is open daily for children attending summer camp. The pool is also open to the public during specific hours. Swimming lessons are available upon request for a small fee.

After School Program

Our after-school program is available to children from kindergarten to 8th grade. In addition to an afterschool snack, students have time to complete homework assignments and receive additional tutoring if needed. We are also available when schools are closed, although space is limited. State of MD Purchase of Care is accepted for youth programs.

Summer Day Camp
June - August

Designed for boys and girls ages 3 - 14 years old. It begins the first full week  after the school year ends and concludes the last full week before school begins. Activities include field trips, swimming, exercise, educational games, and vacation bible school.

Camp Rappahannock

Located about 70 miles south of Washington, D.C. in Richardsville, Virginia (Culpeper County), Rappahannock Camp & Retreat Center (formerly Camp Happyland), is a summer destination for youth from communities that The Salvation Army serves in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Children will have a week-long, overnight stay while learning about their faith through an enjoyable outdoor camping experience.

This ACA-accredited camp offers  swimming, hiking, outdoor skills training, crafts, and much more. Friendships and memories from summer camp will last a lifetime.

HOW ARE THE SALVATION ARMY’S BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS SIMILAR TO REGULAR BOYS & GIRLS CLUB ORGANIZATIONS?

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs have the advantage of being part of two of the most influential and trusted national nonprofit organizations in the world, thereby benefiting from the vast experience and mission of both of these great movements. Further, as a Christian organization, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs offer programs and services that emulate Christian principles.

The Club offers young people what they need and want most – adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.
